Facility Access

Given the advanced nature of the work that takes place inside the cleanroom, access to the Notre Dame Nanofabrication Facility (NDNF) is available only to researchers who have completed the safety training, orientation, and walk-through, received their facility access badge, and learned how to request tool-specific training and schedule time for use of the equipment.
Training Requirements outlines the 7-step procedure for gaining access to the facility.
Chemicals and SDS explains the importance of knowing the proper use of chemicals in the NDNF and how to access the Safety Data Sheets available through Notre Dame Risk Management and Safety.
Fees outlines the cost of using the equipment.
Scheduling provides instructions on how to set up an iLab account for reserving a piece of equipment and using University charge numbers to pay for your time.
Hours of Operation
The laboratory is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to qualified users who have a facility access badge. New users may be restricted to 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Acknowledgement
Users are requested to acknowledge the NDNF in all publications and proposals whenever facility equipment or instrumentation is used and/or assistance is provided by facility staff. Publications are a key indicator of the usefulness and impact of the NDNF and are reported annually by NDnano to the Vice President for Research. Please use the following standard statement when acknowledging the NDNF:
"We thank the Notre Dame Nanofabrication Facility for fabrication and characterization support"
