MBE

Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) systems are used to grow high-purity, single-crystal films in specific crystallographic orientations determined by the substrate. MBE systems heat base materials in either evaporation or effusion cells until sublimation occurs and the base materials condense on the surface of the substrate. These systems require extremely high vacuum in order to achieve desired film properties.
